Improvisation is a key component in jazz performance irrespective of the instrument in hand. In the case of vocals, this improvisation tends to fall into two camps, either vocalese or scat. Vocalese involves performing lyrics to a classic improvised solo, and scat is an improvised solo without lyrics. In this hour, we will dig some swingin' scat singing, by some very cool cats.
